Dining is a pleasure here. Start at 1885 Café and Market for coffee and quick bites, meet up at Gather and Hem for small plates and a crafted drink, and treat yourself to La Grotta in the same historic building.

Many of Richmond’s top restaurants and arts venues are an easy walk, so you can keep the car parked and focus on the experience.

A Historic Landmark with an Authentic Richmond Story

Our host hotel has a special history unique to Richmond and lives inside the former Miller and Rhoads department store, a beloved gathering place for generations of residents.

Its marble floors and soaring ceilings were carefully preserved during the building’s transformation, which helped spark new energy on Broad Street and brought people back to a landmark corner of downtown.

Today, the site anchors a mixed-use block that includes 250 guest rooms, apartments, shops, and dining, connecting past and present in an unforgettable way.
